Many types of treatments are available for the coccyx. One of the most comprehensive sites listing the diverse range of treatments, doctors, therapists and layperson opinions is www.coccyx.org

Kemper Tailbone Injury Foundation believes that, first and foremost, the coccyx is a vertebra with innately flexible segments. These flexible segments serve a purpose; most logically to create a flexible pelvic floor, birth canal and "spring-like" anchor for the spinal cord.

As in the care of any joint, flexibility is a key function. Therefore, injury resulting in a displaced or inflexible joint, at any level, deserves careful rehabilitation of that joint's range of motion. Except in the case of severe ligament tearing or detachment requiring surgical removal, we remain dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of the syndrome of symptoms associated with loss of coccygeal function termed  the "SacroCoccygeal" syndrome, which includes: Reduced Trunk / Spine Flexion, Measurable Loss of Thigh Strength and Palpable Decrease in coccyx segmental motion.

Physicians desiring assistance with the Wooley-Kemper Procedure, may contact Dr. Chris Kemper, Director of Physician Services for Kemper Tailbone Injury Foundation at DrChris@KTIF.org. or an authorized representative.
